For our Head of R&D Tim, however, it wasn't just Turkey: in addition to numerous destinations in Germany, he also traveled to Spain, for example.
At IOTIQ, we don't just travel, we also do sports: In April, the IT Cluster Mitteldeutschland's #gemeinsambewegen campaign ran again, in which we took part! It didn't take much persuasion to turn the campaign into a great team event, because we really let off steam with badminton, tennis, table tennis and squash at the Matchball Sportscenter Leipzig. And afterwards, everyone enjoyed a cool drink - real sports buddies!
A bus without a sensor, a march through a winter wonderland and smoking pans
Have you ever driven a self-driving vehicle? The IOTIQ Leipzig team can now actually claim to have! An AI-controlled bus was supposed to drive us to our Christmas party location. Fortunately, there was still a female driver on board, because unfortunately the heavy snowfall was so hard on the bus's sensors that it couldn't make it all by itself.
Once we reached Lake Schladitz, we walked the rest of the way through the snow by torchlight. The program continued in a somewhat archaic vein, as we found ourselves at the Camp David Sport Resort for archery - which is only made easier to a certain extent with a few mulled wines. The snowfall also made for difficult 'hunting conditions'. Good thing we were able to warm up with - you guessed it - even more mulled wine!
We at IOTIQ are all gourmets: so part of our daily ritual is to discuss the menu at lunchtime. Burger King? Kebab? Vietnamese or Thai? Or pizza? And because we love food and being together as a team so much, we organized a small Easter breakfast for Easter. Easter includes eggs and sometimes eggs include bacon! A prankster who thinks that the fire alarm in our coworking space was triggered by the smoking bacon in our pan.
Summer in Leipzig - and IOTIQ is looking green!
A little later came a new highlight of the IOTIQ year: the redesign of our balcony. Although it is now buried under snow and ice, we enjoyed it throughout the summer with lavender, stonecrop, cranesbill, columbine and numerous herbs.
Another 'Our office shall become more beautiful' project was the office makeover. New desks and ergonomic chairs were purchased and the seating arrangement was adapted to give everyone a great place to work. However, this is not a long-term solution either: that's why IOTIQ is moving in January 2024! A big step for us - out of the start-up scene and into an increasingly well-functioning and successful company.

Anne (Development)... first completed her mandatory internship at IOTIQ, then successfully completed her bachelor thesis. She is now continuing to work with us.
Alex (Development/ R&D)... successfully completed his training with us and now continues to work with us full-time.
Toni (Business Development)... particularly remembers the positive development and the good feedback from customers (and of course the Christmas party).
Sven (CEO)... organized the new IOTIQ Leipzig office - an important task for him that took up a lot of time. He was also particularly impressed by how well the IOTIQ team worked together throughout the year.
Alina (MDM Team)... thought the sporting event in spring was particularly successful! Let's go for the next round!
Melis (R&D Turkey)... was literally thrown in at the deep end, as she remembers how she had to solve a website bug for one of our CoTwin customers as her first 'real' task. But, on the bright side, the customer was very happy afterwards!
