Research and Development: IOTIQ at the ITEA PO DAYS 2022 in Helsinki

In addition to the development of software solutions such as MobiVisor MDM, IOTIQ is also involved in projects for Research and Development (R&D) of innovations. These are mostly in the area of software development, as this is where our greatest expertise lies. In order to win new projects, it is important to always have ones finger on the pulse, to exchange ideas and of course to recognize the potential of certain project ideas. For this reason, events are held regularly to make this possible, such as the ITEA PO Days, where our project manager Elisabeth, together with managing director Özer was on the road for IOTIQ.

Exciting international projects: What is ITEA?

ITEA stands for the collaboration of various European companies from all industries to develop innovative software solutions whose goal is to bring about and drive improvements for society.
If you want to know more, you can find out everything about ITEA here: https://itea4.org/.

To be considered as a project partner for an ITEA project, companies must demonstrate not only innovative ideas but also a high level of competence in project management and software development. The timeframe of each project can vary, there are different goals and tasks vary from project to project. But this is exactly what makes innovation so exciting and also what always excites us.
In the course of the ITEA PO DAYS we therefore talked to Elisabeth about her impressions.

IOTIQ Editorial Team:
Tell us briefly: what were you most looking forward to?

Elisabeth, Research and Development Project Manager:
The last few years, PO Days have taken place as an online event. Therefore, I was especially looking forward to seeing or meeting everyone in person.

IOTIQ Editorial Team:
What exactly was your part in the event?

Elisabeth, Research and Development Project Manager:
The goal of the ITEA PO Days is to inform about new project ideas, find new partners and consolidate them during the event before going into the project phase. We ourselves did not present our own project this year and we focused on finding projects that are a good fit for us.

IOTIQ Editorial:
How did you prepare for this?

Elisabeth, Project Manager Research and Development:
In the run-up, there were online meetings where the new projects were presented. There we got a first impression and were able to make a pre-selection of projects that would be suitable for us.

IOTIQ Editorial Team:
What impressed you the most? Are there any special impressions? Did you find anything particularly inspiring?

Elisabeth, Project Manager Research and Development:
I was also particularly pleased that the OPTIMUM project was awarded the Exceptional ITEA Award of Excellence. Our CEO Özer Aydemir was also asked as one of the selected 'SME Stars' to give a speech about his experiences and perspectives with ITEA.

IOTIQ Editorial Team:
What do you take away for the future, maybe for yourself personally, for IOTIQ, etc.?

Elisabeth, Research and Development Project Manager:
We will be working on some project proposals in the coming months and hope to successfully complete the proposal phase so that we can realize the projects in the coming years.

IOTIQ Editorial:
Do you come into contact with current trends/forecasts at such events? And if so, what has left a lasting impression?

Elisabeth, Research and Development Project Manager:
Project ideas are categorized into 'challenges' in advance. In recent years, most have been in the direction of 'smart engineering' or 'smart industry' and it was very interesting to observe that this year, for the first time, the clear majority was in the area of 'smart health'.

Thanks, Elisabeth for your interesting report!
